Antique 14 carat Gold Guard Chain set with Sapphires, dated circa 1900, most likely European in origin.
A beautiful antique belcher type chain set with purple and white sapphire beads cut in a rondelle style, this is a stunning piece of late Victorian/Edwardian jewellery.
The chain is a rich warm rose gold, quite fine but still sturdy and wearable, it loops and sits perfectly to make a versatile necklace that can be worn as one long elegant strand, or doubled, and finally tripled (or quadrupled) for an interesting gold collar/stylish look!
This chain would have been worn with a hand warmer or just alone for a very grand Edwardian or Victorian lady...
These days, it still looks fantastic and unusual, an antique unique Darling Deco treasure for someone you adore!
Or, for yourself!
The necklace comes with an independent appraisal and lots of extra bonus points for its giver!
The chain is a wonderful 150cms long and almost 20 grams of gold weight.
Condition is very good, however in one of the bead sections, there is one inner white faceted rondelle sapphire bead missing.
