An original Edwardian gate link bracelet made out of 9 carat rose gold.
This bracelet is an attractive tight mesh style link that is partly etched on one side and plain on the other.
These bracelets were popular around the turn of the century in the United Kingdom.
They were called 'day and night' bracelets as the etched side was considered the dressier 'night-time' link and the plainer side was intended for wearing during the day. A quirky and quaint detail of antique jewellery that is still wearable and wonderful today! Such craftsmanship!
Nicely made, and in excellent condition for its age, it is English and is hallmarked with English stamps.
The padlock is in good condition also and has a safety chain.
For an average size wrist, at 17 cms long & 1 cm wide, 13.07 grams in weight.
This bracelet could be modified slightly to fit a slightly larger or smaller wrist.
