A fun and quirky 1920's cloisonné purse pendant; this pendant was an Art Deco fun piece from China and was part of the 'Chinoiserie' trend of the time.
This occurred when travel became more prevalent, including air travel, some of the hitherto unexplored jewellery, art and style of other countries were embraced for their beauty and difference.
Cloisonne is a form of enamel where the enamel was hard baked and set into silver. This fun little gem features bright coloured enamelling in silver gilt and the little bag can actually fit something very very small! Although, not a mobile phone!
The pendant is shown here on a short gold chain, it could look good on a longer chain too. It has a modern contemporary appeal, and we all love a new handbag, this is just a very tiny one! It would make a fun gift for a deco enthusiast, a girl who loves bright shiny things, or perhaps, just for yourself!
The cloisonné purse measures 4 cms in total length, it is 3.5 cms across at its widest point.
