A pretty and rare bakelite Art Deco brooch featuring a seagull in flight.
This brooch dates back to the 1920's. Bakelite was one of the first forms of plastic, developed in America by Mr Bakewell and rapidly became a popular material for Art Deco jewellery in the 1920's.
This brooch is white and hand coloured in pastel shades to make the seagull look really pretty. He looks great on a jacket or pinned to a scarf.
The seagull measures 4 cm across his wing span.
