A beautiful piece of early Australian opal jewellery.
This bracelet showcases the Australian grape vine leaf work that was so prevalent among our Australian jewellery craftsmen around the turn of the century. The work is finely detailed here with each link featuring entwined grape leaves, to a large centre section that showcases a vivid blue green opal streaked with pink, Australian opal doublet. This is a layer of opal fused over an onyx backing. This was done both to keep the cost down, and to experiment with the stone in more daring styles of jewellery. The result is a very pretty bracelet.
It is made of 15 carat gold, has a safety chain and is stamped with an early Australian hallmark. It comes both with an independent appraisal and an excellent chance to impress your beloved!
The bracelet measures 18 cm in length, at its widest point it is 2 cm wide.
