A lovely example of a piece of early Australian jewellery; this is a well made and solid 'gypsy' set wide 15 carat yellow gold band with hand detailing. These rings were popular around the turn of the century and were often worn as wedding bands. This one is a rich yellow coloured gold that speaks of Australia and its gold mining heritage. The rubies are especially bright and contrast well with the yellow gold.
The rubies are graduated and together weigh .10 carat.
The ring is marked with the makers mark for William Drummond and Co; the marks are a flag, a sheep and the gold stamp.
In great condition this is a ring that can be worn on its own as a wonderful dress ring, or on a lucky woman's left hand as an engagement ring.
It comes with an independent valuation and we can size it to fit!
