This is an elegant and perfect antique ring, made in the early stages of the Art Deco era around 1920, it shows off a wonderful, oval cut, deep moss green emerald of around 0.50, or half of a carat.
The emerald most likely came from Africa where the darker green stones were found at that time, the fourteen old cut diamonds surrounding the stone are old cut and set in a white mill grain bezel frame. They total 0.40 carat, and are SI in clarity and H in colour.
The shoulders of the ring highlight the early Art Deco style. Less floral than Victorian, here the decorative shoulders are somewhat angular and stylised but still graceful enough to give the ring an added character.
The ring is marked 18 carat and most likely was made in England. It is in good condition and has many more years of pleasure to give its wearer.
