A wonderful celluloid turtle brooch made by Lea Stein. Lea Stein was a jewellery designer who explored the use of plastic to make jewellery. Her brooches are collectable and memorable. This one is fabulous! The turtle is a nice large rounded shape, simple but sweet, fashioned from two moulded pieces of celluloid. The shell is a nice mottled realistic colour. He dates to around the 1950's, and is marked 'Lea Stein Paris' on the back.
The turtle measures 8 cms long from nose to tail, he is 5 cms wide.
