A very pretty early English suffragette piece of jewellery. The suffragette movement adopted the pink and green colours of gems to signify its movement through jewellery.
This piece is a dainty example of Art Nouveau transcending to the Art Deco new style, or Style Moderne, as Art Deco was known. It dates to circa 1915.
There are marcasites interspersed with paste stones set in sterling silver.
It is in excellent condition, and would look great on a short silver chain, and interesting on a gold one also! Women wore this jewellery as a subtle way of announcing their strength and intention to fight on!
This pendant looks wonderful on, pretty and sweet.
It would make a lovely gift, a treasure for future generations, or just a special treat especially.... for you!
