A lovely antique Sterling Silver double sovereign case. This is a kidney shaped sovereign case that is etched with floral Victorian hand engraving. It is hinged and has the two inner spots for keeping two half sovereigns.
The case is marked with the silver assay marks for Birmingham 1889 and makes an attractive and interesting pendant for today.
It is nice and solid and in excellent condition for its age! Here it is on a short belcher chain, but it would look good on a variety of chains, from long and fine to a short fob watch chain.
The case measures 5 cms in length and 3 cms across at its two widest points. It is approx one cm in depth.
